The Meal-a-Day Mission
Jesus tells us that we should care for our neighbor. We work with Meal-a-Day’s partners to meet the needs of the poorest of the poor in the Americas through the provision of resources that enable self-sufficiency.
Hungry
We fund programs related to ensuring that people have enough to eat. These include feeding programs, emergency food provision, irrigation, improved farming techniques, refrigeration, stoves, and electricity.
In Prison
We fund programs related to supporting people who have a family member in prison. These include programs that provide help for families.
Thirsty
We fund programs related to ensuring that people have clean water to drink. These include water pumps, sanitation systems, and water purification.
Sick and in Need of Clothing
We fund programs related to ensuring that people have their health needs met. These include clinics, medical supplies, refrigeration for medicines, better nutrition and supplements, sewing machines and related training, and hygiene training.
Stranger
We fund programs related to ensuring that people who have been uprooted as a result of conflict or famines are safe and housed.
Widows and Fatherless
We fund programs related to ensuring that the most vulnerable people can survive and have hope for a better future. These include orphanages for severely abused children, food and education for street kids, educational programs for vulnerable populations, and basic job skills training.
We Literally Give All That We Have
Meal-a-Day has very few administration costs—board members and other supporters travel, offer skills, and provide resources often using their own funds. This means that almost all of the money you donate is used to help those in need. Our goal each fiscal year is to distribute all the funding that donors have provided. We give everything we have in order to address needs as quickly as possible. We do not worry about the funds of tomorrow; we have faith that our Heavenly Father will continue to bless our efforts if it pleases Him.
We Investigate Our Projects
At Meal-a-Day we strive to make sure the projects that get the money deserve it—especially when there are often more projects than funds. In order to do so, we research the project to ensure it is the best use of our donors’ money. Once a project starts receiving funds, the board regularly corresponds with and checks in on the project (including site visits) to make sure everything is running as hoped.
We Invest In Our Community
Meal-a-Day provides an outlet for the members of our community to serve those in need. We are always looking for anyone who wants to lend a hand, mind, or voice to spread God’s love.
One example of this investment is the Meal-a-Day initiated build projects as a way for our brethren and young people to give their time, money, and energy to do good works in Jesus’ name.
