Amy is originally from Ontario, Canada until she married her husband, fellow board member Matthew Swift from Cape Cod, MA. They have two grown sons. She has worked in the education of young children and children with special needs. She loves being outside admiring God's creation and is very thankful to have the health to enjoy it.  She is thankful to have many special friendships with others who share her faith.

Jesus taught us that the second greatest commandment is to Love your neighbor as yourself. Meal a Day has helped me to share God and Jesus' unmerited love and blessings with the poor, disadvantaged and victimized.

The problems of the world seem overwhelming and I know that only in Christ's Kingdom will everything be fair and just.  Until he returns and heals the nations and the earth, we can do both small and big things to help where we can.  I love the positive and empowering approach of Meal a Day and seeing the hundreds of people that have had their lives drastically improved by our help.   I have also been spiritually uplifted by my involvement and encouraged to act out my faith in more practical ways.

In Jesus's words from Luke 6

31 Do unto others as you would have them do to you.

36 Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

38 Give, and it will be given to you.  A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured out into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
