Your donation to Meal-a-Day is making a difference! There are tens of thousands of people in the developing world who have been helped by the generosity of Meal-a-Day donors like you.

In 2020, Meal-a-Day provided financial aid in eleven different countries. Meal-a-Day has partnered with local NGOs to support forty-five separate pure water, electrification, agriculture, vision, education, and family welfare programs and projects, all with your support.

This year, the pandemic increased the need for support and demanded a flexible approach to meeting the changing needs of vulnerable communities. Meal-a-Day worked with its partners to adapt to rapidly changing conditions, ensuring that vulnerable communities were supported and funds were used effectively. For the communities supported by Meal-a-Day in Central America and the Caribbean, the impact of the pandemic was compounded by several severe weather events, such as hurricanes. In 2020, more than ever, your support has changed---and saved---lives.

In 2020, Meal-a-Day supported vulnerable communities in countries such as Columbia, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Honduras, Peru, Haiti, El Salvador, and Jamaica. This year, we have begun to work with indigenous communities in North America to enable the provision of clean water. Meal-a-Day has continued to provide education opportunities for children living in extreme poverty and who are impacted by political upheaval and armed conflict. Meal-a-Day has continued to support programs that enable self- sufficiency through food security (e.g., animal husbandry and agriculture), potable water, sanitation, and energy generation (e.g., solar energy) and energy use (e.g., fuel efficient cook stoves).

On behalf of all those who have been helped by Meal-a-Day, thank you for your generosity.

Meal-a-Day is managed entirely by volunteers who work very hard to ensure that almost all of your contribution goes directly to help those who need it most. In 2020, administrative costs totalled under 2% of total distributions. A separate account for travel is funded by Meal-a-Day’s directors, and the cost of newsletters and other mailings are separately funded as well.
